Finally, Adrian said something.
“Dad, mom, are you ok?”
There was no response.
It was totally dark. Adrian could not see anything. He could
only feel the weight of his father’s right arm over his shoulder. He grabbed
the hand. It was cold.
Adrian panicked. He reached for his father’s head. The face
was cold. He put his finger in front of his nose. Nothing!
“Dad! Dad!” He used his left shoulder to shake him.
“Dad! Dad!”
No response.
“Mom?” Adrian reached for his mother who was at the left
side of his father.
“Mom?”
He reached again. He found her face. He slapped it hard.
“Mom!”
A moment later, she uttered a few words.
“Adrian, I am ok.”
“Great! Are you hurt?”
There was no response.
“Mom! Are you hurt?”
“I think I am ok. I cannot feel my right arm.”
Adrian looked around. He could see a slight opening to his
right. Using his right hand, he was able to push a piece of wood aside. He saw
some blinking lights at the distance. He turned to his right and removed his
father’s right arm. This time, he used his feet to kick off the wood panel. A
door size opening was then visible.
