A3

Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo.

How could AKG49 forget that intersection? It was the place where he saw his father last. His father just completed his infectious disease residency. They went to Las Vegas to visit his grandfather. That night, he was at that corner with his mother and his father. His father decided to play a slot machine in Cromwell casino, right at that corner. Just before they walked out, a huge explosion was heard. He saw the sky turned red even when it was almost midnight.

The initial explosion was followed by three more. The building shook. People were screaming. His father grabbed him and his mother and leaned against the corner wall. They all sat down with their heads down. He tried to keep his eyes closed. But from the corner of his eyes, he could see a wave of smoke and light rushing into the casino.

The ceiling on top of them fell over. It trapped them inside, as if forming a cave. In a way, that was how they survived. After hours, the chaos finally stopped. It was deadly quiet. No more screaming. No more running sound. No more gushing. No more light. Everything was quiet and dark.
